Feisty feature of the day #23 - Custom colours in themes

There are quite a few different themes that you can choose from on Ubuntu, and you can even mix and match icon, window border and control styles to personalise things a bit. Now, you can have some control over the colour of certain items too.

Press System -> Preferences -> Theme, click Customise and select the Colours tab. Then, alter the available colours to those of your choosing. That's all there is to it.

An example of changing the colours in a theme

While in theory you're no longer restricted to the theme designer's choice of colours, only a few themes actually support this feature at the moment (notably, Clearlooks). More themes should hopefully be compatible by next release (after Feisty).
